Michele Rama - Daughter, photographer, artist

Born in 1979 in Johannesburg, South Africa, this artist’s journey is shaped by a life of rich cultural diversity and resilience. Growing up in northern South Africa with a refugee Portuguese father and British mother, she experienced an ever-shifting world, moving through cities and countries including England, Portugal, the United States, and Mozambique by the age of 21.

Initially a qualified nursery school teacher with an innate creative spirit, her passion for art fully blossomed later in life. After moving to England at 30 and spending two years teaching in Angola, heartbreak inspired a deeper dive into artistic expression, which became a source of healing and fulfilment. Upon returning to South Africa, she also explored novelty cake design before relocating to the UK, where she currently works as a nanny and continues to pursue art. A dedicated traveller who has visited 15 countries, she finds inspiration in photography, particularly in capturing architectural beauty.

Through each painting and photograph, she invites viewers to connect with her journey, celebrating a world of movement, emotion, and discovery.
